It has been a blast writing my first book. But more than that, it has made me grow as a person.

I'm a Texas City-born girl who loved growing up in a small town. As a child I was allowed to explore and travel by my bike all over town, but my parents always knew where I had been by the time I got home. It was a safe to place to grow up and friendships were made that have lasted a lifetime. What jewels we are given and as a child, I just didn't understand how lucky we were. I am thankful every day for being allowed to grow up in Texas City. Go Stings, Class of '67!
Sometimes situations in life cause you to go in directions you never dreamed of. This was one such pathway I never thought I would take. With the discovery of the letters and the historical significance of the 345th Bombardment Group, I undertook a 4 1/2 year project to research, educate and encourage people to discover what it was like trying to live during wartime 1941-1944 and court your girl from another continent.
In that process, I discovered so much about myself:
- I learned I could attain a dream that once seemed impossible.
- I learned that I really didn't know anything about WWII and forced myself to learn as much as I could; the end result was getting to meet some of the finest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
- I found out information about my father's service which he never would talk about. If only he were alive now, what questions I would ask and what stories he would tell!
After reading Wings and a Ring, I would be honored to hear from you with comments about the book. I can only improve on future books if I have honest feedback. Please complete the following information and send in those comments.
